An experimental release of the future main release of BORIS (v.8) is available on (only for Linux and Windows for now).
Thwere is no version for MacOS. The Mac OS users should use Parallels Desktop to run the Windows version or switch to another OS.
The VLC media player was replaced by the MPV Media Player. Great improvements were made thanks to this, see version 8 for the details.
This version includes the VLC libraries and the FFmpeg software and is available only in 64-bit version

This release was tested successfully on MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) and 11.0 (Big Sur).
Please note that some users reported some problems using BORIS in full-screen mode
You can lock the dockwidgets (except the players) on the main form. See Tools > Lock dockwidgets
